Ruth New

Ruth was born in 1895 in Southampton, Hampshire.¹ Ruth's father was Henry William New and her mother was Anne Amelia Gannaway. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Joseph Gannaway and Susan Devine. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Henry, Albert, John, Florence, Edith, Louisa, Ann, Christabel, Grace and Dorothy. She was the youngest of the eleven children. She had two half-sisters named Ann and Lydia.
