Anne was born on August 25th, 1850 in Southampton, Hampshire and her christening took place on August 25th, 1850 in St Marys, Southampton, Hampshire.1 2   Anne's father was Thomas Joseph Gannaway and her mother was Susan Devine.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry George Gannaway and Ann Mainer. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named George, Thomas, John, William, Thomas, Nathanial, Harry, Harriet and Lydia.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 57 in 1907.1
