Alfred Groves

Alfred was born in December 1846 in Ventnor, Isle of Wight and his christening took place there on February 28th, 1847.¹² Alfred's father was James Groves and his mother was Ann Francis. His paternal grandparents were William Groves and Jane Barnett. He had a brother and two sisters, named William, Elizabeth and Jane. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Henry and Henrietta. He died at the age of 74 in December 1920 in Isle of Wight.³
