Mary Ann Avis

Mary was born in 1797 in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire and her christening took place there on April 27th, 1797.¹ Mary's father was Thomas Avis and her mother was Mary Chambers. Her paternal grandparents were William Avis and Elizabeth. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, John, James, Nathanial, Thomas, Ann and Dinah. She was the second oldest of the eight children.
