Ann was born in 1794 in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire and her christening took place there on January 30th, 1794.1   Ann's father was Thomas Avis and her mother was Mary Chambers.  Her paternal grandparents were William Avis and Elizabeth. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, John, James, Nathanial, Thomas, Mary and Dinah.  She was the oldest of the eight children.  She died in 1794 in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.1
