John Avis

John was born in 1802 in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.¹

John's father was Thomas Avis and his mother was Mary Chambers. His paternal grandparents were William Avis and Elizabeth. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, James, Nathanial, Thomas, Ann, Mary and Dinah. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 44 in September 1846 in Eton, Buckinghamshire.²
