Catharine's father was Peter Turner and her mother was Catherine Stewart.  Her paternal grandparents were John Turner and Janet Marshall. She had a brother and seven sisters, named John, Janet, Mary, Agnes, Annie, Margaret, Isabella and Peterina.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 79 on January 2nd, 1932 in Edinburgh.  She was buried in Edinburgh.^3 4
