Annie's father was Peter Turner and her mother was Catherine Stewart.  Her paternal grandparents were John Turner and Janet Marshall. She had a brother and seven sisters, named John, Janet, Mary, Catharine, Agnes, Margaret, Isabella and Peterina.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 55 on April 19th, 1912 in Edinburgh.  She was buried in Ratho.^3 3
