Archibald was born on March 23rd, 1883 in Paisley and his baptism took place there on April 8th, 1883 conducted by minister A. Fyfe Burns.¹²

Archibald's father was Walter Colquhoun Towers and his mother was Jane (Jean, Jeanie) Kerr. His paternal grandparents were William Tours and Margaret Colquhoun; his maternal grandparents were Archibald Kerr and Isabella (Bella) Purdon. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Walter, William, John, Alexander, James, Elmer, Isabella and Margaret. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 91 on August 22nd, 1974 in Pennsylvania.³
