Jemima's father was John Love and her mother was Elizabeth McLatchie. Her maternal grandparents were Hugh McLatchie and Hannah Goldie. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Alexander, Thomas, Hugh, Robert, William, Hanna, Mary, Elizabeth, Marion and Janet. She was the third youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 73 in 1945 in Hurlford.
