Maud was born about 1235 in Clifford Castle, Herefordshire, England.  Maud's father was Walter III De Clifford and her mother was Margaret Drwyndon verch Llewelyn Fawr.  Her paternal grandfather was Walter II De Clifford and her paternal grandmother is Agnes De Condet; her maternal grandparents were Llywelyn Fawr ap Iowerth and Joan Plantagenet. She had a sister named Lucia.  She was the younger of the two children. She had six half-brothers named John, Llywelyn, Roger, Hugh, William V and Richard.  She died after December 1282 in Brimpsfield, Gloucestershire, England.  She was buried before May 9th, 1283.

‌Maud and William were married in a religious ceremony on April 30th, 1254.  They had a daughter named Margaret.


Maud's second family with John Giffard

‌Maud and John were married in a religious ceremony about 1270.  They had a son and three daughters, named John, Katherine, Eleanor and Maud.
