Philip II Augustus Capet of was born on August 21st, 1165 in Gonesse, Paris, France.  Philip II Augustus Capet of's father was Louis VII Capet the Younger of France and his mother was Adelaide de Blois de Champagne.  His paternal grandparents were Louis VI the Fat Capet of France and Adelaide de Maurienne of Savoy; his maternal grandparents were Theobald III the Great of Blois and Mathilda von Sponheim of Carinthia. He had two sisters named Adele (Alix) Capet of and Agnes Capet of.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had four half-sisters named Marie Capet of, Alisa Capet of, Margaret Capet of and Adelaide Capet of.  He died at the age of 57 on July 14th, 1223 in Mantes, France.  He was buried in 1223 in St. Denis, France.
