Kermit Manfred Bjorlie 
Kermit Manfred was born on April 3rd, 1919 in Bjorlie Farm, Nesheim Township, Nelson County, North Dakota. Kermit Manfred's father was Olaf Alfred Bjorlie and his mother was Louise Mathilda Enstad. His paternal grandparents were Sever Henry Bjorlie and Karen Oien Johnson; his maternal grandparents were Ole Johannes Enstad and Mari Olsdatter Enstad. He has a brother and a sister, named Orel Stanley and Helen Jeanette. He is the second oldest of the three children.General Notes

"BJORLIE-LEWIS Mr. and Mrs. K. M. Bjorlie are now in Mahnomen, following
a wedding trip through Colorado and Midwestern States. Mrs. Bjorlie was
formerly Miss Ruth Lewis, daughter of Mrs. Cora B. Lewis, Waco, Texas,
before her recent marriage. The wedding was solemized Saturday, August
30, at Waco, Texas by Dr. W. W. Melton. The altar was decorated with
baskets of white gladioli and white chrysanthemums. A musical prelude
was presented by Harry Lee Spencer, organist, and Bill Denman, who sang
two wedding selections. Given in marriage by her cousin, Cecil B.
Barker, the bride wore a dress of white crepe designed with a peplum.
Her veil of illusion was held by a headdress of white crepe and orange
blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white roses and gardenias. As a gift
from the bridegroom she wore a strand of pearls. Miss Edna Lewis, sister
of the bride and maid of honor, and Misses Gloria Bunn and Polly
Billington, bridesmaids, wore identical dresses of fall shades of
tangerine, wild mink and sea green with accessories of cocoa brown. They
carried colonial bouquets of orchid dahlias, yellow carnations and pink
chrysanthemums. Attending Mr. Bjorlie as best man was Oliver C. Pack,
while ushers were Raymond T. Harris and Harold Denton. After the
ceremony, a creception was held at the home of the bride's mother.
Receiving the guests with Mrs. Lewis were the Misses Edna Lewis, Bunn and
Billington. Mrs. Cecil B. Barker was at the bride's book while Mrs.
William Penn Clarke presided at the wedding cake and Mrss Jenny Barnes
poured punch. Mesdames F. E. Luker, John R. Bechtel, Jr., and Harvey E.
Morrow assisted in the dining room. For traveling the bride wore a brown
suit, and off-the-fact hat of brown, white gloves and brown accessories.
Her corsage was of gardenias. The bride is a graduate of Waco High
School and a local business college. The bridegroom is a graduate of
North Dakota public schools and North Dakota Agricultural College. He is
a veteran of World War II, having served three years in the Army Air
Corps. He is the son of Mrs. Bjorlie and the late Olaf Bjorlie of Pekin,
N. D. He is County Agent for Mahnomen County."

"Recently added to the County Extension staff as assistant county agent
was Kermit Bjorlie of Pekin, N. D. Mr. Bjorlie graduated from the North
Dakota Agricultural College in 1942. Soon after his graduation he
entered military service and trained as a fighter pilot. He was
discharged last spring after combat service in the Pacific area. Mr.
Bjorlie's duties as assistant agent will be very much the same as the
regular county agent. He is well qualified by experience and training
and promises to be a valuable addition to that office."
