From a newspaper clipping in Louise Enstad Bjorlie's newspaper scrapbook:
"RITES FOR MRS. KAREN BJORLIE HELD SATURDAY-Funeral services for Mrs.
Karen Johnson Bjorlie, 76, who died Feb. 17 at the home of Mrs. Anna
Jacobson at Pekin, were held last Saturday at the Sheyenne Lutheran
church with Rev. Benjamin Ostrem officiating, assisted by Rev. H. O.
Bjorlie of Faribault, Minn.  The congregation sang "The Parting Tears Are
Flowing.  The choir sang "Abide With Me" and "The Last Mile of the Way"
and one Norwegian song, "Vi Skal Sove Men Ei For Evigt."  Pallbearers
were six grandsons, Orel and Kermit Bjorlie, Kenneth and Stewart Enstad,
Philip and Sigfryd Lysne.  Interment was made in the Sheyenne cemetery. 
H. Chas. Graham of Lakota was in charge of the funeral.  Mrs. Bjorlie was
born in Romsdalen, Norway, Dec. 25, 1863.  Coming to America with her
parents when eight years old, they settled at Albert Lea, Minn.  She was
married to Siver Bjorlie at Silver Lake, Iowa, March 6, 1882, and has
made her home in Nelson county since.  Mr. and Mrs. Bjorlie retired from
farming in 1914 and moved to Pekin where they resided until the death of
Mr. Bjorlie on June 28, 1931.  She spent several years at the homes of
her children.  Her health became poor in 1937 and she was a patient at
the McVille hospital for some time, and during the past few years was
cared for by Mrs. Anna Jacobson.  She was a charter member of the East
Sheyenne Ladies Aid.  Surviving are sic children, John of Oak Park, Ill,;
Gilbert and Arthur of Hollywood, Calif.; Sidney of Towner, N. D.; Mrs.
Fred Fredrickson of Hanska, Minn.; one foster daughter, Mrs. Aaron Casad
of McVille; 14 grand children, one great grand child, one sister, Mrs.
Julia Moen, Carbondale, Ill., and one brother, Andrew Johnson of Hanska,
Minn.  Her husband, one daughter, Henriette, and one son, Olaf, preceded
her in death."
