Ole Johannes Enstad 
Ole Johannes was born on April 17th, 1851 in Midti Overlie(8-1) or Sorpa Enstad, Lesjaskogen, Gudbransdalen, Norway. Ole Johannes' father was Johannes Johannesson Midti Overlie and his mother was Kari Syversdatter Sorpa Overlie. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Olson Ner Enstad and Kari Jonsdatter Stuguflotten; his maternal grandparents were Syver Syverson Sorpa Overlie and Lisbet Syversdatter Nordi Lie. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Johannes Johannesson Midti, Syver Johannesson Midti, Mathias Johannesson Midti, Kari Johannesdatter Midti, Lisbeth Johannesdatter Midti, Anne Johannesdatter Midti and Anne Johannesdatter Midti. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 80 on June 29th, 1931 in Nelson County, North Dakota. He was buried in Sheyenne Lutheran Cemetery near Pekin,Nelson County,ND.General Notes

From the pamphlet, "Early Experiences of a Pioneer" Related by P.O.
Enstad, Pekin, N.D. are these comments: "Among the landseekers that I
knew who came here in 1883 were Ole J. Enstad, married to my sister, John
J. and Mathias Enstad and Tronh Holm, all from Yellow Medicine county,
Minnesota. They all filed on land in May. Ole J. Enstad then went back
to Minnesota toget his wife and two children, Jonas and Clara, and also
brought back with him a load of stock and machinery."

"BERGEN PIONEER IS LAID TO REST-Ole J. Enstad was born in Lesjeskogen,
Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, on April 17, 1851, and came to America on April
25, 1878, and settled at Granite Falls, Minn., May 23 of the same year.
He was married to Marie Enstad July 6, 1878 by Rev. O. Nelson Berg. The
couple came to North Dakota in the spring of 1883 and located on a
homestead in Bergen Township, where he made his home until his death.
They were blessed with five children, Jonas, Clara, Carl, Oluf and
Louise, and one foster son, Harold. Mr. Enstad was a member of the
Sheyenne Lutheran church. He had been sick about five weeks, although
his illness was not considered very serious until it took a sudden change
for the worse on Sunday. He passed away Monday, June 29, at 10 o'clock
in the evening at the age of 80 years, two months and 12 days. He leaves
to mourn his loss two daughters, Clara and Louise; one son, Carl; his
foster son, Harold, seven grand children and one great grand child.
Funeral services were held on Thursday of last week at one o'clock at the
home and two o'clock in the Sheyenne church with Rev. S. S. Wold and Rev.
Marcus Tufteland officiating. Pallbearers were neighbors of the
deceased: P.E. Bjorlie, Paul Vrem, Roberts Mueller, P. A. Bjorlie, Andrew
Klefstad and Matt Hovel."
