William I "the Lion" was born in 1143 in Scotland.  William I "the Lion"'s father was Henry Prince of Scotland and his mother is Ada De Warenne.  His paternal grandparents were David I "the Saint" King of Scotland and Maud Matilda Of Northumberland; his maternal grandparents were William II de Warenne and Isabel (Elizabeth) de Vermandois. He had two brothers and four sisters, named David, Malcolm IV "The Maiden", Ada, Matilda, Marjory and Margaret.  He died at the age of 71 in 1214 in Sterling, Scotland.
