Isabel (Elizabeth) was born in 1085 in Valois,Bretagne,France.  Isabel (Elizabeth)'s father was Hugues "le Grand" de France and her mother was Adelle (Adelaide) Vermandois.  Her paternal grandparents were Henri I King of France and Anna Agnesa Yaroslavia; her maternal grandparents were Herbert IV Count of Vermandois and Adela Hildebrant De Vexin. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Raoul I, Henri, Simon, Guillaume, Maud (Matilda), Beatrice, Constance and Agnaes.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  She died in England.  She was buried in Lewes,Sussexshire,England.

‌Isabel (Elizabeth) and William II were married in a religious ceremony in 1117 in France.  They had three sons and three daughters, named William, Reginald, Ralph, Ada, Gundred and Adelian.
