William Jr. Gatten 
William Jr. was born in 1795 in Alleghany or Montgomery Co., Maryland. William Jr.'s father was William Benjamin Gatten and his mother was Sarah Murphy. His paternal grandfather was Richard Gatten and his paternal grandmother is Mary; his maternal grandfather was Joseph Murphey. He had nine brothers and five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Thomas, Charles, John, Galentine, Isaac, Greenberry, Joseph, James, Jonathan, Elizabeth (Betsey), Rachel, Catherine (Katie), Jane, Sarah (Sallie) and UNKNOWN. He died at the age of 81 on November 30th, 1876 in Muscantine Co., Iowa.-
