Oliver Howard Sloan 
Oliver Howard was born on August 31st, 1865 in Crawford County,Indiana. Oliver Howard's father was Benjamin Neal Sloan and his mother was Mary Ann Sands Douthit. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Sloan and Leannah Bolling; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin Douthit and Maria Riley. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Silas W., Winfield Scott, Archibald Franklin, Elmer Elsworth, Edward, Haden Finley, Clarissa Ellen, Rebecca Ann, Lidda Martha, Leannah Caroline and Mary Belle. He was the third youngest of the twelve children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William Harrison, John Eads and Janette (Jennett). He died at the age of 78 on March 20th, 1944 in North Powder,Oregon.-
