Jermiah Green
Jermiah was born in 1705 in
Hunterdon County,New Jersey. Jermiah's father was
William B.Greene and his mother was
Joanna Reeder. His maternal grandparents were
John Reeder and
Joanna Burroughs. He had six brothers and four sisters, named
William,
Joseph,
Benjamin,
Isaac,
John,
Richard,
Esther,
Joanna,
Mary and
Sarah. He died at the age of 57 in October 1762 in
Rowan County,North Carolina.
General Notes
In Nov 1754 he bought 147 A on Spreading Spring Branch, N of Looney's Mill Creek in the Fincastle Community. By 1756 he was in "Davidson County". Two years later he is referred to as living net to John Vanoy, etc. Finally in Nov 27, 1762 he got a grant in tract # 9, adj. Gershom Hunt, Joseph Brown and Patrick Sives?. From adj. deeds his land was between Swearing Creek and Potts creek. On Jan 12, 1783 Hannah (his Wife?) and Richard and Isaac were given letters of Administration. John Sloan was sold cheap 100 A by Richard Green that had been Jeremiahs Land. John sold it and never lived on it. ( from Monita Horn of Issaquah WA)
