In 15th year, came to US working in NY, and PA and MD where he married Mary Scott. 1750 moved to NC settling at the SW corner of land known as Wachovia to which Brethern came 2 yr. later. He shared his food supplies with them. Was inclined to drink. After a while the Brethern were invited to hold mtgs in his home and on 10-6-1781 he was received into the congregation.
