Archibald Sloan 
Archibald was born on October 14th, 1766 in Iredell County,North Carolina. Archibald's father was John Sloan and his mother was Mary Greene. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Sloan and Margaret---------; his maternal grandfather was Jermiah Green. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Jeremiah, John, Anna, Margaret and Mary. He died at the age of 69 on October 12th, 1836 in English,Crawford County,Indiana. He was buried in Sloan Cemetery near English,Indiana.General Notes
In Census 1790 of NC. In 1807 he and family left NC and headed west in a
covered wagon. They settled in Barron County, KY. In 1810 Census of Barron
Co. KY. Next they migrated to Meade County KY for a short time then crossed
the Ohio River to Indiana in 1818. They went first to Indianapolis area but
it was mostly swampland and wet and the settlers were sick with chills and
fever. They decided to move south to the hills of southern Indiana. They
settled about 4 miles west of the town of Marengo in Simpson Chapel area. They had to clear land for a cabin, but soon had a home built.
Son Benjamin's death records state that his parents were from Ireland.

Benjamin Neal was born on January 26th, 1817 in Meade County,Kentucky. He died at the age of 86 on July 27th, 1903 in Marengo,Crawford County,Indiana. He was buried in with first wife ?Marengo Cemetery.
Archibald and Rebecca were married in a religious ceremony in North Carolina. They had four sons and six daughters, named James Guy, John M., Alfred, Jeremiah Xenophen, Clarissa, Miranda, Dorinda, Mary Green, Margarite and Elvira.

Jeremiah Xenophen Sloan
Jeremiah Xenophen was born on July 18th, 1808 in Barren County,Kentucky. He died at the age of 82 on March 9th, 1891 in Cass County,Missouri.
