Elijah Murray was born on July 22nd, 1816 in ,Rutherford,NC.1 Elijah Murray's father was John Swesey and his mother was Rosannah Borden. His paternal grandparents were George Sweezey and Rachel McDowell. He had seven brothers and a sister, named James H, William G, Alfred Haywood, John Middleton, Jeremiah W, Rachael B, John Burchett and Mary. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 73 on January 1st, 1890.1 -
