Mathias Sweezey 
Mathias was born in 1725 in Southold,Suffolk,New York.1 Mathias' father was Mathias Swayze and his mother was Eunice Case. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Swayze and Hannah Beardsley; his maternal grandparents were Theophilus Case and Hannah Youngs. He had three half-brothers named ?, Amos and Aaron. He died after 1792 in Cumberland Co PA.1 General Notes

to my wife Sarah all that acres of land that william sweesy made deed for.. bearing Date Sept. 9 1854...also all my house hole and kitchen furniture, two cows. and also leave and bequeath to my daughter elizabeth McBride one hundren and fifty dollars and also give and bequeath to John Bennet fifty dollare and also to two grandchildren, Matthias, Mary Melissa edeburn fifty dollars each and i give to four gandchildren Matthias, Thomas, Marie and John Sweesy, orphans of George... fifty dollars each..to grandaughter Ester Ann daughter of David ten dollars. also equally divided amongst my six sons william, thomas, Samuel, Matthias, Jefferson and Isaac Sweesy... (george was deceased already)..

Albertson vs Swayze. Middlesex sessions, March term 1751. Nicholas Albertson complains of Matthias Swayze, of Bethlehem, Hunterdon County, who on 23 January 1748/9 became indebted to him by bond in the penal sum of 90 pound for 45 pound debt which remains unpaid. At the time the bond was executed, Albertson was described as being of Bethlehem, millright.

Pursuant to an act of General Assembly of the Province of New Jersey, lately published, entituled, " an Act for the relief of insolvent debtors ," We the subscribers, being now confined in the goal of the County of Hunterdon, and we have petitioned the judges of the inferior court of Common Pleas for the benefit of said Act and filed a schedule of effects, do give notice to all our creditors to appear and show cause, if any they have, on the ninth day of June next, at two o'clock in the afternoon, of the same day, before the judges of the said court, at the dwelling house of Charles Axford, Junior in Trenton, why we should not be discharged agreeable to the directions of the said act.

It appears that Matthias moved to Cumberland County, Pennsylvania that same year, 1768.
