Samuel Swayze 
Samuel was born in 1653 in Southold,Suffolk,New York and his baptism took place on August 19th, 1664 in Salem,Essex,Ma.1 Samuel's father was John Swayze and his mother was Katherine King. His paternal grandparents were John Swasey and UNKNOWN Margaret?; his maternal grandparents were William Kinge and Dorothy Haynes. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Joseph, Mehitable, Sarah, Mary and Abigail. He died at the age of 83 on November 19th, 1736 in Southold,Suffolk,New York.General Notes
Notes from Bob Sweezey
Salmon Records list date of death as 1736 at age 83. I am confused about this person. I find very little information about his family, and I have been looking through all the old census and land holdings of Southold in the 1600's and I see his Grandfather, Father, and Brothers John and Joseph mentioned many times, but no Samuel. Very odd. Even as late as the 1686 census does not list Samuel.
I finally see a Samuel in a 1698 "Lists of Inhabitants of Southold". According to "The Hortons in America", Samuel's daughter Eliza who married David Horton, was really the daughter of Richard Sweezey, Samuel's brother. Maybe Samuel and Richard are the same person.
My records show that Elizabeth could not be the daughter of Richard.
According to "Swezey History" by Richard M. Bayles - 1928, John had only two sons - John and Joseph. B.F. Swasey does list a Samuel as a son, but with no other information (no birth date, marriage, etc.). But the 1680 census did list 3 males and 4 females as children. So this would tend to support a third son Samuel.
