John Middleton was born in 1832.1 John Middleton's father was John Swesey and his mother was Rosannah Borden. His paternal grandparents were George Sweezey and Rachel McDowell. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Elijah Murray, James H, William G, Alfred Haywood, Jeremiah W, Rachael B, John Burchett and Mary. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
