William Zike 
William was born on September 15th, 1835 in Freetown, Jackson County, Indiana. William's father was John Zike and his mother was Susannah Smith. His paternal grandparents were Jacob "Zeuch" Zike and Katherine Lucinda Avey. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Jacob, David, James, Henry, John, Isaac, Mary Ann, Matilda and Hester Ann. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 78 on September 7th, 1914 in Arispa, Union, Iowa.-
