Mary Etta was born on January 17th, 1877. Mary Etta's father was William Zike and her mother was Harriet May Poor. Her paternal grandparents were John Zike and Susannah Smith. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Samuel Miller, Jacob Wendell, Thomas William, Anna Belle, Martha Evelyn, Hattie Florence, Ida May, Julia Elizabeth and Zelma Elendor. She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.-
