Eva Dorothea was born on April 1st, 1755 in Lancaster Co., PA. Eva Dorothea's father was Jerome Hieronimus Eckman and her mother was Anna Barbara Slaymaker. Her paternal grandparents were Johannes Eckman and Eva Dorothea Seitz; her maternal grandparents were Mathias Schleiermacher and Catharine Schiebel. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Johannes, John Martin, John Henry, John Jacob, Heieronimus, Jr., Daniel, Anna Barbara, Mary Magdalena, Esther and Maria. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 64 on August 19th, 1819 in Lancaster Co., PA.General Notes
