Henry Slaymaker was born on December 17th, 1793 in Lancaster Co., PA. Henry Slaymaker's father was Thomas Buffington and his mother was Elizabeth Slaymaker. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Buffington and Mary Frissell; his maternal grandparents were John Slaymaker and Elizabeth White. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Daniel, William, Thomas, Alexander, Benjamin, Margaret, Ann, Jane and Elizabeth. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.General Notes
