Rachel Ogier

Rachel was born on February 2nd, 1798 in The parish of St Sampson on the Isle of Guernsey, Channel Islands and her baptism took place on February 5th, 1798 in St Sampson Baptism register.^1 2   Her godfather was Daniel Thachy Snr and her godmother was Rachel Trachy (wife of Daniel Trachy).  Rachel's father was Jean Ogier and her mother was Marie (Mary) Trachi.  Her paternal grandparents were Jean Ogier and Catherine Ogier; her maternal grandparents were Daniel Trachy and Rachel Mahy. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Jean, Thomas, Daniel, Pierre, Marie, Elizabeth, Marthe, Judith and Catherine.  She was the second oldest of the ten children.
