Jean Pierre Ogier (John Peter)

Jean was born on March 27th, 1801 in The parish of St Sampson on the Isle of Guernsey, Channel Islands and his baptism took place on March 30th, 1801 in St Sampson - Baptism register.^1 2   His godfather was Pierre Dore and his godmother was Charlotte Trachi (his wife).

Jean's father was Jean Ogier and his mother was Marie (Mary) Trachi.  His paternal grandparents were Jean Ogier and Catherine Ogier; his maternal grandparents were Daniel Trachy and Rachel Mahy. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Daniel, Pierre, Marie, Rachel, Elizabeth, Marthe, Judith and Catherine.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 53 on August 14th, 1854 in Australia.¹
