Ellen was born on January 6th, 1861 in Neston and her christening took place there on February 22nd, 1861.1 2  Ellen's father was Richard Timmis Jnr and her mother was Lydia Woodward.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Timmis and Ellen Lewis; her maternal grandparents were James Woodward and Ann Williams. She had two sisters named Jinnie and Lydia.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died due to heart disease, Cystisis & auricular Fibrillation, at the age of 76 on June 30th, 1937 in Birkenhead.  She was buried in July 1937 at the Bebington Cemetery.3

    • Judge's Golden Wedding.
      Married at Neston Parish Church by the Rev. H Kempelton on Aug 25th 1885, Mr and Mrs James Judge, of 67 Derby Road, Higher Tranmere, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday.
      Mr Judge is a native of Cavan, Ireland, where he was educated. For some years after leaving school, he did farm work, his parents being farmers, but when he was twenty years of age he came over to Birkenhead. Here he joined the staff of the General Post Office and worked at both the Rock Ferry and Birkenhead offices for a total of forty years. He retired practically twenty years ago and during these latter years his great interest has been gardening.
      Mrs Judge, formerly Miss Ellen Ann Timmis, was born in Neston where she lived until the time of her marriage. Mr and Mrs Judge have lived in Rock Ferry and Birkenhead. They are members of St Michaels Church.
      They have two sons, four daughters and one grandson.

‌Ellen and Jim were married in a religious ceremony on August 25th, 1885 in Neston by Curate Mr. Kempton.5  They had two sons and four daughters, named Tom, Willie, Annie, Nellie, Lillie and May.  There are no more children.
