Ellen was born on January 6th, 1861 in Neston and her christening took place there on February 22nd, 1861.¹²

Ellen's father was Richard Timmis Jnr and her mother was Lydia Woodward. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Timmis and Ellen Lewis; her maternal grandparents were James Woodward and Ann Williams. She had two sisters named Jinnie and Lydia. She was the oldest of the three children. She died due to heart disease, Cystisis & auricular Fibrillation, at the age of 76 on June 30th, 1937 in Birkenhead. Her burial was in July 1937 at the Bebington Cemetery.³

- JUDGE Ellen Ann of 67 Derby Road, Birkenhead widow died 30 June 1937. Administration Liverpool 6 August to William Woodward Judge post office clerk. Effects £222 8s 3d.
