George's father was Thomas William Stocks and his mother was Clara Lee. His paternal grandparents were Charles Henry Stocks and Frances (Fanny) Ann Perry. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Charles, Thomas, Frank, Phyllis, Dorothy, Evelyn, Clara, Hazel and Elsie. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 69 on May 20th, 1975 in Wallasey.²
