David Stocks

• Birth Notes

  Aged 36 when died, so born about 1761.  There are 164 Stocks baptisms in West Yorkshire BMD within 10 years of 1761, and only two of those are David; one at Sowerby St Peter & Others (Aug 1763) and the other Huddresfield (Dec 1759) . Since the family were in Berry Brow its resonable to assume Huddersfield is the correct one.  However, for the death age to be correct, the Swoweby Baptism (abode unknown) is preffered. Also, for this, the father is James, the same as a witness of David's marriage.

  Deighton is about 3 miles NE of Huddersfield, whilst Berry Brow is 2 miles South, so neither a perfect match. We were expecting David to be in the Parish of Almondbury (as on Marriage)
