Mary Alice Smith

Mary was born in August 1864 in Little Bolton.¹

Mary's father was William Mather and her mother was Martha Smith. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mercy Grime. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William, James, Herbert, Mary and Martha. She was the fourth oldest of the six children. She died at 11 months old in July 1865 in Little Bolton. Her burial was on July 17th, 1865 at St. Mary (Deane).²
