John was born in December 1839 in Little Bolton.¹

Birth Notes

John's father was James Schofield and his mother was Mary Horrocks. His maternal grandparents were John Horrocks and Nancy Mather. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Adam, Thomas, Betty, Ellen, Margaret, Nancy and Sarah. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died in December 1839 in Little Bolton.²
