Ellen was born on January 29th, 1838 in Little Bolton.¹

Birth Notes

Ellen's father was James Schofield and her mother was Mary Horrocks. Her maternal grandparents were John Horrocks and Nancy Mather. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Adam, John, Thomas, Betty, Margaret, Nancy and Sarah. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at just 11 days old on February 9th, 1838 in Little Bolton. She was buried on February 11th, 1838 at St. Peter's (Bolton).²³
