Sarah was born in 1858 in Turton.1  Sarah's father was William Ramsden and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Hamer.  Her paternal grandparents were <Unknown> and Matty Ramsden. She had six brothers and four sisters, named John, James, William, Alfred, Fred, Ernest, Martha, Emma, Alice and Alice.  She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 25 in 1883 in Turton.2
