Sally, known as Sarah, was born in 1804 in Billinge and her baptism took place on January 1st, 1804 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1 2  Sarah's father was Edward Moyers and her mother was Tabitha Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were James Mather and Ann Berrington. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Edward, Edward, Mary, Ann, Margaret, Jenny and Ellen.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
