Ann was born in 1798 in Billinge and her baptism took place on August 19th, 1798 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1  Ann's father was Edward Moyers and her mother was Tabitha Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were James Mather and Ann Berrington. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Edward, Edward, Mary, Margaret, Sarah, Jenny and Ellen.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.
