Margaret was born in 1800 in Billinge and her baptism took place on April 27th, 1800 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1  Margaret's father was Edward Moyers and her mother was Tabitha Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were James Mather and Ann Berrington. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Edward, Edward, Mary, Ann, Sarah, Jenny and Ellen.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.
