Maria was born in 1888 in Rhodes (nr. Middleton).¹

Birth Notes

Maria's father was Joseph Miller and her mother was Jane Mather. Her maternal grandparents were William Mather and Eliza Graham. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Harry, William, John, Fred, Alfred, Alice, Mary, Eliza and Florence. She was the third youngest of the ten children.
