William Mather

William was born in May 1856 in Westhoughton and his baptism took place on May 30th, 1856 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).¹²

William's father was William Mather and his mother was Margaret Smith. His paternal grandparents were Geffrey (Jeffery) Mather and Catherine Gregory. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Edward, Geoffrey, Geoffrey, Catherine, Ann, Ann and Margaret. He was the seventh oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 63 in September 1919 in Bolton.³
