Jeffery (Geoffrey) Mather

Jeffery, known as Geoffrey, was born in September 1851 in Westhoughton.¹

Geoffrey's father was William Mather and his mother was Margaret Smith. His paternal grandparents were Geffrey (Jeffery) Mather and Catherine Gregory. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Edward, William, Geoffrey, Catherine, Ann, Ann and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 8 in 1859 in Westhoughton.²

- There are records for the birth and death of G/Jeffery and a gap in the births, but no bapitism to confirm. However after Jeffert died, another was baptised, so he must be of this family.
