Samuel Mather

Samuel was born on November 30th, 1809 in Whitefield and his baptism took place on January 21st, 1810 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).¹²

Samuel's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Esther Barlow. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Margaret Scholes. He had a brother and a sister, named James and Margaret. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 61 in October 1871 in Whitefield. His burial was in October 1871 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).³
