Richard Mather

Richard was born on April 25th, 1835 in Quarlton and his baptism took place on July 11th, 1836 at Edgworth Independent.¹

Richard's father was Richard Mather and his mother was Mary Rostron. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Alice Entwistle. He had a brother and six sisters, named John, Alice, Sarah, Martha, Mary, Martha and Jane. He was the fifth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 66 on February 22nd, 1902 in Quarlton. His burial was on February 26th, 1902 at St. Anne (Turton).²³

  (*) Mother Mary would be aboiut 80, not 82, but this must be his mother!
  Alice (1839-1884) may be a sister-in-law (tbc).

- Richard Mather married Betty Booth 15 Dec 1861. His witness was Amos Mather but which Amos? Richard didnt have a brother Amos.
