Nicholas Mather (Storey)

Nicholas was born in 1836 in Haslingden.¹

Birth Notes
- Aged 15 in 1851, born Henheads (a few miles North of Haslingden)
  Aged 25 in 1861, born Henheads
  Aged 32 in 1867 of Haslingden when married

Nicholas' father was John Storey and his mother was Sarah Mather. His maternal grandparents were Abraham Mather and Margaret Liddle. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Mally and Margaret. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 44 on September 5th, 1880 in Haslingden. His burial was in September 1880 in Haslingden.²³

- Nicholas Storey was born before his parents married, so his propper name was Nicholas Mather. Another Nicholas Mather was born in Mellor the same year.
  
  4 Dec 1867, Nicholas Mather (32), and Engineer and bachelor from Haslingden "Son of John Storey, weaver", married Mary Harris (31), a spinster and daughter of John Harris (farmer) from Mangholes.
  
  There are no MATHER+HARRIS births (so was Mary a widow?). The Births at Wigan are another family.
  
  In Sep 1880, Nicholas Mather died at Chapel Street, Haslingden, aged 44..
