Nicholas Storey was born before his parents married, so his propper name was Nicholas Mather. Another Nicholas Mather was born in Mellor the same year.
4 Dec 1867, Nicholas Mather (32), and Engineer and bachelor from Haslingden "Son of John Storey, weaver", married Mary Harris (31), a spinster and daughter of John Harris (farmer) from Mangholes.
There are no MATHER+HARRIS births (so was Mary a widow?). The Births at Wigan are another family.
In Sep 1880, Nicholas Mather died at Chapel Street, Haslingden, aged 44..
