Moses Mather

Moses was born in August 1808 in Westhoughton and his baptism took place on August 3rd, 1808 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).¹

Moses' father was William Mather and his mother was Mary Green. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, John, Jeffery, Joseph, Henry, Alice, Ann, Mariann and Margaret.  He was the youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 21 in April 1830 in Westhoughton.  He was buried on April 23rd, 1830 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).²
