Alice Mather

Alice was born in 1785 in Westhoughton and her baptism took place on January 29th, 1785 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).¹

Alice's father was William Mather and her mother was Mary Green. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, John, Jeffery, Joseph, Henry, Moses, Ann, Mariann and Margaret. She was the second oldest of the ten children.

General Notes
- Alice did not marry James Topping (as that Alice was a widow), so this is possibly my Alice Mather that married Samuel Mather in 1810. However, the 1851 census shows my Alice was from Turton.
